Who is Madie G.?

I grew up most of my life here in Southwest Iowa, so these backroads are not a stranger to me. I am the oldest of four, where we all have our own special talents, so if you can imagine… our childhood was crazy!

I was gifted my first professional camera my senior year of high school. I really didn’t think much of it as far as a business or anything outside of a hobby - truth be told, I didn’t think I had what it takes to do it at the time. But here we are, going on three years of making this dream a reality.

This job and this industry complete me. I love it so much. And you all are apart of this wild ride where you’ll see me grow as a business owner, sister, friend, and mother. You get to see all the things I can do with my lens, but who is the girl behind it?

I have always been a writer… so starting a blog just feels right! I feel as though I have all these things I can share with you as far as from becoming a photographer, to becoming a mother, to the recipes I love! Creating this resource for you to continue to learn and read from, just… feels right.

Throughout this blog, I will be giving tips/pointers, an inside scoop on my business, and an insight on the girl behind the lens - because whoever is behind the lens, creates the magic in front of it! So for my first ever blog post, I decided to ask one of my closest friends to describe me as “the girl behind the lens.” I felt as though she could give you an “outside looking in,” point of view. It’s a little twist on how to get to know me! Here is what she had to say:
